Lynn B. Norcia, Esq.

Lynn B. Norcia, has been a New Jersey attorney for 40 years and has experience in all family docket types. Lynn has been appointed as a Guardian ad Litem and parenting coordinator in numerous family court matters and was recently added to the Supreme Court’s Roster of Parenting Coordinators. Lynn has been a family mediator for over 20 years and was instrumental in developing New Jersey’s protocol for the statewide expansion of the Child Welfare Mediation program. She specializes in high-conflict custody cases.

Lynn previously had a lengthy career in public service, most recently as a Family Mediator for the Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex Vicinage, where she mediated over 800 family court cases of all docket types. She also served as a Domestic Violence Hearing Officer for the court for many years (2002-2016).

Lynn has represented children who were the subject of Division of Youth and Family Services litigation (now the Department of Child Protection and Permanency, “DCPP”) as a Law Guardian in the Office of the Public Defender (2000-2002). Lynn’s passion for helping children also led to her role representing the DCPP in child abuse and termination of parental rights cases while a Deputy Attorney General in the New Jersey Division of Law (1993-2000). Prior to that she represented the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights (1984-1993).

Lynn is a skilled appellate attorney, having successfully handled numerous appellate cases and having appeared before the Appellate Division and the New Jersey Supreme Court as well as playing a significant role in a landmark United States Supreme Court sexual harassment case.

• Appointed to the New Jersey Supreme Court’s District V-A Attorney Ethics Committee (2000-2003)
• New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators: Member of the Board of Directors (2017-2021), member since 2015
• New Jersey Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, Member and Secretary of the Board of Directors (April 2019-present)
• Volunteer Lawyer’s for Justice, volunteer attorney, providing legal services to economically disadvantaged litigants (2018-present)
